If you read the previous messages in this thread then most likely chances are that you will get both together.

Cannot get divorce papers

Hi to you all.

My vietnamese friend came here January 2020 and married an Australian man last month. She is now applying for a partner visa. Her migrant lawyer advised her to get the divorce paper from Vietnam before 10 June 2020.
But how can she get it during pandemic lockdown (no overseas trip allowed)?

Is it possible to get it from Vietnam Embassy in Australia?
Thanks in advance.

Just a thread for people in 'the same boat' (although we're all very different) - mods if this isn't an appropriate thread (because the information can mostly be found through Timeline Search) please feel free to adjust, close or delete! I'm just curious who else out there is (still) waiting, since both applicants I knew have been granted before me!

I’ve been following this forum for a couple of years, thought I’d share my timeline:

Applied: 21 May 2018

Went ahead and front loaded my application with everything I could. Did Medicals and Police checks straight away.

April 2020: Online account a stated I need to complete my medical (again) completed this a couple of weeks later.

14 May 2020: Further information request asking for updated Police checks only.

28 May 2020: Uploaded updated police checks

29 May 2020: 820 & 801 visa granted together.

Good luck everyone.

Any one got their PR recently? We put in our application in November 2019. Got a notification informing us it is in progress.

Was that the 820 visa application date?

The post above yours applied in May 2018, and received PR (subclass 801) just a couple of days ago.

They got theirs very fast though, getting the 820 and 801 at the same time, presumably due to long relationship. Normally 3 years or 2 with children.

PR would normally be about 3 years or more after the 820 application.
