Just got our grant today!
Applied late August 2019. No Agent, Aus citizen + Thai partner of ~1.7years at the time. Gave a relationship update 6 months in. Asked for more info June 2020, 2 police checks from previous countries of residence. Submitted the checks early July. 820 visa grant today! We are so happy, feels good to know our efforts on the application have proved fruitful so far. Really a great feeling, looking forward to applying for the 801 next year. |
Worried Sick
Hi,
I am new to this forum and would love for anyone's advice on what can I do for my visa appliaction Applied for 820 on- 03 Jul 2018 Department requested partner's Australian National Police Check (NPC)- 05 Feb 2019 I have not heard from the department since, except the annual "application in progress" emails. When I first applied the processing time was under 18 months now its upto 24 months for 90% application. I am currently on 25 months and now I am really worried. I have called the 131881 number 7-8 times over these 25 months and each time they say if the application says its processing then they or me anyone can not do anything. Looking at some of other people's timeline on this forum mine looks too delayed. Does anyone have any advice on what can I do to fast track the process? Thanks in advance. |

Some countries supply this faster than others. Have you had anyone look over your application to ensure it is complete? |

[quote=JandE;1999291]Some people use a registered migration agent to check over their application.
Thanks @JandE. Thats is useful. I will first again go through my application again and get in touch with an agent if required. Would you know if I can contact athe Immigration department in some manner to get more clarity on what is happening? Also, I was waiting on getting the police check as and when requested as mentioned on the website, but would getting it beforhand and attaching to the application help to fasttrack? Thanks |

The answer might be something like: Covid-19 is delaying things, please keep waiting. Quote:
I have seen quite a few grants being done where people upload the Police checks and medicals with the application, fully front loaded. I personally didn't want to wait a year for a request, and did these with the application. In your situation I would upload it now, and add a note asking if they are waiting for anything else. |

It is very frustrating. Let's hope they will contact us soon. |
