Hi guys!

I have been a long time Reader and have found this forum as a source of support for this visa journey so I thought I'd share my timeline.

My story - Met through family friends back in Early 2017 got to speaking online via
Messenger he came here on a holiday visa the same year and the rest is history!

-300 applied on September 2018
-300 Granted on April 2019

-He arrived into Australia in May 2019
-We got Married November 2019

-820 Applied on January 2020 -included Police checks except the Aus one
-Requested Australian Police Check for him on 2/10/20
-Uploaded Police check, updated documents & personal statements 12/10/20
-820 Granted today 13/10/20

Did it on my own - No agent

I've heard some people get the 801 straight after or even a few months later so I don't know what kind of criteria I would need to meet or to be eligible for that . If our application is finalised is it in some sort of 801 queue where they would grant that Visa a few months later? Has anyone had this sort of experience?

Good morning all!

Just wanted to share my good news in hopes that it'll bring some hope to those also still waiting.

I'm Canadian; applied for the 820/801 from the two back-to-back working holiday visas. My partner and I have been together since February 2017. We didn't use a migration agent and applied ourselves.

Applied for 820: January 11, 2019 - applied nearly front-loaded but was missing Aus medical check, both AFPs and a police check from home country
Completed Aus medical check: January 30, 2019
Completed both AFPs: March 26, 2019
First request for more information: May 13, 2020 - asking for updated both AFPs and police check from home country
Second request for more information: September 18, 2020 - asking for updated Aus medical check (completed October 19, 2020)
820 granted: October 26, 2020

Hang in there! They're getting through them slowly but surely.

Just a quick one to see if anyone has had any news on their 820 onshore? I've not seen many people update their status on here recently!

I understood they are the priority now, but waiting times are at least 22 months still

Hey guys,

I just applied today for the 820 Visa, would you recommend me to do the Health Check straight after or should I wait?

I've seen people being asked twice for the Aus Medical check since the time between the application lodging and the time it's been processed was quite long... Or maybe I got it wrong,

thanks

Hi,
I applied for 820/801 on the 29th of October 2018 and did the health check straight after.
It took more than 12 months for the immigration to process my application and in July 2020 I've been asked to go through another health check... So it was a waste of 350$...
If I had to do it again, I'd wait till I've reached the average processing time minus 12 months or till the Immigration Dept is ready to process my application...
Good luck

I got my 820 30 minutes ago!

I am from Canada and I applied in February with no agent.

I'm so happy, such a big weight off my shoulders!!!!!

However, I do believe we qualify for the permanent visa. I have read that some people ''ask'' for it and get it if they qualify. How can I do that? It can't hurt to check I guess
