Don't forget to change the state if your not from Victoria! Good luck.

I cannot thank you enough ; I sent them a message on Thursday night, and got my permanent visa Friday morning!!

I'm so happy to hear that! Congratulations!!

Lizbiz88, I remember you asked if the permanent visa can be requested without a 2 year waiting period. Did you try anything and did it work?

Hi, yes I did ask but at the time of application we were shy of being together for three years by about six months and but I also did add to the fact that we are looking to purchase a home and some banks aren't favourable on the fact that he's not a permanent resident. They still said we had to wait till the 2 years which is fine We can delay that it's okay it just gives us more time to save for a deposit to borrow less till we can apply for his 801.

For me I just wanted to get the confirmation to see what the eligibility was to get that 801 granted after the 820 because I was unable to find anything on the website.

Understood, thanks for you reply:)

No, in a word, unfortunately!!

Went from 10 months to 23 - there have not been very many on here who have had positive news recently compared to earlier in the year.

Hi all,

I received my 820 grant this morning!

Total waiting time is 20 months, 24 days

Here is my timeline:

19/03/2019: Lodged 820/801 online in Sydney (Status: Received)
23/03/2020: Auto generated email Application in progress
21/09/2020: Auto generated email Application in progress
13/11/2020: form s56 requested for AFP both applicant and sponsor (Status changed to Initial Assessment)
25/11/2020: AFP uploaded (Status changed to Further Assessment)
12/12/2020: visa 820 granted. Received email around 8am (Status changed to Finalised)

Some of breakdown details:
- in relationship since 2014
- started living together in 2016
- got married 2018
- applicant from Thailand and sponsor is Australian.
- health check completed in June 2020 prior to RFI.

Thank you everyone for sharing your info. And for anyone who is still waiting, be patient you will get there eventually.

Regards,

Lurker chiming in. This thread kept me sane during the wait, but it's over now - 820 granted today.

Here's our timeline:

21/04/2019: Lodged 820/801 online in Sydney (Status: Received)
21/04/2020: Auto generated email Application in progress
21/10/2020: Auto generated email Application in progress
17/12/2020: visa 820 granted. Received email around 11am (Status changed to Finalised)

Some of breakdown details if it helps others:
- in relationship since 2015
- started living together in 2016
- Not married
- applicant from UK (457 visa) and sponsor is Australian.
- health check completed in Oct 2019

Experience:
We literally heard nothing but the automated emails and then suddenly got the grant. No CO, no requests for further info.

Quick question to those who might know:
I'm guessing we need to wait the full 2 years since 820 application date (for us, April 2021) before we can get the 801?

I'd ask our CO but...we don't have one :o
