I'm new the group and just looking for a bit of help with a letter I receiver and what it means and what the potential time frame for acceptance after it was received may be.

I originally lodged my 820 application in November 2019.

I received a letter from the department on 13th of January which stated with "Your application for a Partner (subclass 820/801) visa application is currently being assessed
by the Department." It then advised to complete medical and police checks if not done already or if done more than 18 months ago.

I completed my medical in mid February and had to get a new police check done as mine had been done over 15 months ago. I uploaded the police check last week.

Does anyone know if I can expect my application to be reviewed soon or if I will have to wait.

The letter was also signed by a case officer with a position number. Should I contact them to advise all documents are now uploaded? Is there even a way to do this?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks
I did receive it earlier this month

Hey peeps, FWIW having just booked a medical for hubby, first available appointments are now stretching out to early May. If you think you might get a letter soon, it's worth booking one now cos you'll be waiting a while! We also asked for extra copies of our ACRO UK Police Checks to be sent to parents so they can do colour scans to email to us as they will accept an uploaded scan of this to ImmiAccount and it was quicker to do it this way than wait for the originals to get to Australia in the post.

We applied in early Oct 2020 so they are definitely getting through them now.

I just saw this on DHA page on Facebook not long ago. I think it is good for those waiting like me to take this advise for a quicker partner visa processing.

We are processing more Partner visas. Check your ImmiAccount and make sure you have all of your documents ready. Applications with all required information, including health and police checks, can be processed more quickly.

I have asked couple of migration agents and their take on this was that the department want the applications to be as close to decision ready. My medical has surpassed the 18months time period so I am redoing this in April.

Maybe they have allocated you the C/O which is good.
I am waiting now more than 25months.
My letter was very similar but didn't say that it was auto-generated and not to reply. It had my details listed at the top of the letter and said "in reply quote...". It also had a signature of someone at the Department with their position number, so assuming that they will be my case officer.

I decided to reply to the email to advise that I had now completed everything and uploaded documents.

Will let you know if I hear anything back from them!

Submitted and my application was received tonight. Quite a relief!

Would anyone recommend 'front loading' my evidence page? Get my UK and Aus police checks, and my partner's Aussie police check all done soon? I will have all my evidence uploaded by Wednesday, and personal statement by the end of this week.

Thinking of holding off on the medical until asked though, that is pretty expensive! Is this a good idea, or shall I hold off until requested?

Best of luck to you all. I have been lurking here for months, and this forum has been so helpful. Hope everyone receives good news soon!

Some grants get done quickly, others take longer.

Does waiting to do the medical delay a grant? It might for some.

A couple or recent grants:
820 Granted: 27 Feb 2021 Applied 18 Apr 2020. British. Processed in 10 months.
820 Granted: 26 Feb 2021 Applied 29 Dec 2020. Pakistani. Processed in 2 months.

I'm wondering if we need to do a new AFP police certificate for my partner as it expires at the end of this month.

However, we got a Request for Information not long ago and they didn't ask for it.

We also got a letter before the request advising us to update police certs if they were issued more than 15 months ago and to do health checks but to ignore if all is provided.

I don't want to complicate things by providing his new police certificate if they didn't ask for it but I'm not sure... I'm assuming that they already looked at it and only requested the information they wanted?..

Thanks a lot.
