Also it says:

"Processing - Please wait for the department to contact you"

Is this a good sign?

I know I know I'm getting my hopes up

Does this also mean I can't uploda anything else? I still need to add my Police Checks and Form 80 but I presume they'll ask for those or can I just add them now even though it says wait for someone to contact me?
Hey LouElla - they just upgraded their systems, that's why it looks different. Neither of those messages mean anything, unfortunately. They're just showing you the address they will send any correspondence to, and giving you a generic message (that all applicants now see) that just means "Don't call us, we'll call you."

Yes, you can still upload things. Best of luck.

Yeah 6 months is pretty good going. My partner is in the defence force and we had our relationship recognised by them so maybe that helped?

Hi All,

Firstly, what a great idea to have a waiting room for those of us waiting for our 820 applications and congratualtions to all who have already been granted their visas. We've just hit the one year mark since submission of our application and thought I would add our details to the waiting room:

Visa Subclass: 820
Nationality: Thai
Applied: Paper based, Onshore in Sydney
Application Date: 3 September 2013 (Decision Ready)
Police Checks: Submitted with application
Medicals: Completed and submitted with application
Case Officer assigned: Unknown
Visa granted: Still waiting

Welcome...

Hi Bluesea
Nice to have another friend here waiting with us. There hasn't been much action on this thread for a while, so fingers crossed there will be some grants and other news soon. We've passed our 13th month now and are checking VEVO every day. It's much easier if you call DIBP and get a password by the way. Cheers to you and others patiently waiting...

Hi Dinkum,
Thank you for your message. I have been following your posts for a while as you applied ahead of us by a month and a half. Thank you for the VEVO tip. I hope you receive your grant very soon.

Sorry Dinkum, I also meant to ask - have you asked DIBP for an update on your application now you are over the 13 month mark?

Hi bluesea!

I am nearly the same as you, paper application in Sydney end of September last year so we're only a few weeks off the 12 month mark too and haven't heard anything from DIBP - hopefully we will both be receiving some good news in the coming months!

Dinkum - is that a login in/passwords to access any updates on our visas online like those who applied online? Different to VEVO? I didn't know paper applicants could access the online stuff.

Thanks!
