Does seem to be the average at the moment. Well if it's only another 2 months we have to wait I'm happy fingers crossed ours won't be too much longer!

Thanks for that information Speedyetz and congratulations once again on getting your visa granted!

We actually did the checks in January 2013 as we were intending to submit by February, but we didn't get around to it until July 2013. So, the checks were around 20 months old at the time the visa was granted. No issues though, it seems.

The only thing we submitted after our application was a notice to correct some information- I'd mistyped a date in my personal statement so sent a letter to correct that.

Hello all,

Just looking to hear from anyone on this thread that applied for 820 while on a visitor visa. Or does anyone here knows anyone who successfully gained 820 from visitor visa?

Can you advise me please

You can PM me if you prefer.

Thanks

I know someone who has 820 and applied on a visitor visa. Whilst that's not how you're meant to go about things, there's nothing to stop you as long as you don't have a 'no further stay' clause on your visitor visa which would prevent you from applying for another visa onshore.

Hi Island Girl

I used a will pack from the Post Office, it was really cheap and it words it all correctly which is a massive help...

Did anybody here apply through Perth in June/July this year? We submitted our onshore decision ready application online at the end of June, would be nice to see how other people that applied around that time are getting on!

Hello everyone!

Just received my grant notification! Still can't believe. Here the short story about my visa journey.

I applied 05 June 2013 from student Elicos Visa Onshore in Melbourne. It was paper application, no agent and yes I am from high risk country (Russia). Police check from Russian Fed was provided with application, medical check and ANP - March 2014. No contact from Immigration Department until 05 August 2014. They requested me to update Police check from Russia. I received my Police check last Friday 19 Sep 2014 and sent scan copy to IMMI immediately. And finally I received grant notice today at 11am.

Thanks,
Mila
