that is what i am afraid of and it has now been "proven" with this email.

for long, i have suspected they have two "streams" of visa processing. this is only known to the people in the visa dept. one stream paper and another the online stream.

online applications starting from jan 2014 onwards have been processed way quicker than paper applications (those residue applicants from 2013).
they are now up to march 2014 if i am not mistaken.

those from 2013 (aug 2013 onwards) are still waiting on the other stream.
that is why most of us from end of 2013 are still on the "waiting list" for case officers while those from 2014 online applications are allocated CO quicker.

Dayvt;, bluesea and myself are all from 2013 and still waiting....
and we are all from different visa centre, Dayvt; and bluesea from sydney and me from melbourne.

if two streams did not exist, then how can you explain why applications from early 2014 are being processed while us from end of 2013 are still languishing on the list?

if they say applicants are allocated CO according to application date, the current visa grant trend does not hold true then.

this is from my own deductions.
you guys are free to approve or disapprove what i'm saying here.

all of you still waiting from 2013 are welcomed to chip in what they think of my theory....

this suggests why my theory is quite acceptable.

grants around 8 months have been observed recently, meaning they are all from jan to feb 2014.

on another note, my migration lawyer told me just a few days ago that visa centre in Melbourne is just starting to process those from oct 2013 (i knew coz i called him to ask about my application on my 1 year anniversary, one of his client from around my timeframe just got accessed by a CO)

I got an answering email a while back from immigration that said they're looking at applications from February 2014 :/ Maybe that's just the Perth office? A lot of people seem to have been transferred there, so who knows that's going on at the moment.
I have noticed there are some timelines where people have applied after me (after March 2014) and have already been approved. :P It stands to argue that one may be faster that the other.

I think your theory holds up really well. I've been told that Perth handles all the e-loged cases from Sydney so my application has been transferred there which also suggests that there's a different processing for online applications.

I have got my 820 granted! Just to share my experience: Decision-ready application was lodged at the end of November 2013 in Melbourne (on paper, but online applications would have started a few days later as far as I remember). Except for the generic E-Mail announcing a soon allocation to a case officer, which a few members also have received back around July, I have never ever heard anything from Immigration, not even when my visa was granted.

I have received a letter as registered post though, containing my two police checks. That was the day I thought I should check my visa status via VEVO again to see whether something has changed. I realised a decision had been made on October 16th! It was already about ten days after that.

I wrote an E-Mail to have the outcome confirmed and a week later I received a call from my Case Manager who apologised for not sending an acknowledgement letter, which he offered to me in either printed or digital version. I received the E-Mail straight away. Nice one! The wait is over for now. We will be able to go on a holiday without applying for a BVB (which has happened twice before)

Am I right that it is a MUST to lodge Form 80? I haven't done it yet as it looks like a pain to me but as far as I know we have to get it sorted for the 801, right?

Thanks to this awesome forum and its members!
