Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell if there is an email address to contact immigration on with enquiries. I have applied for bridging visa B to allow to me to travel back to England for Christmas, it's been a few weeks since I sent in my application and I was wanting to check up on it and how long they think it will be before I hear back as I'm wanting to book flights sooner rather than later, I would call them but last time I called i was waiting on hold for an hour and a half and thought email will be quick seen as it isn't urgent. If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it :)

KDC, they don't grant your BVB until about two weeks before you leave. No need to worry, though - they're always approved these days.

Oh really? So I should just book a flight anyway? Is that most people do? Thanks for your help

Most people have their flight booked months before they apply for a BVB as DIBP only grant the BVB a couple of weeks prior to departure.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone of you has been given their permanent residency straight away instead of TR first? I've asked about it before and know that it's all up to the case officer whether to consider you or not but wanted to know if there's someone here where it actually happened?

Nearly 9 months waiting and the worst part is not to hear anything at all ;(

Thanks:)

Miriam

If you provide evidence of being married/de facto for at least 3 years (or 2 years with a child from the relationship), then they grant the PR (801/300) visa immediately.

We just got our good news!

Hello all,

We have just received the good news that we have been granted our temporary partner visa! All up it was a wait of just over 14 and a half months. We didn't have to supply any further documentation (our police checks and medicals would have expired as we submitted them with our original appliation - so thank you to the members who advised us that we don't necessarily need to update these).

Thanks for everyone's support here it has been great to have this little community here and if you are still waiting for yours to be granted I pray that you hear soon.

And as I think Dinkum said when they received their grant 'See you in the 801 waiting room'.

Cheers,
Bluesea

Yippee.... Thanks for sharing your wonderful news with us all Bluesea. You'll find everyone in the 801 waiting room is just as friendly and helpful. Welcome. Now, have a little celebration and relax...the worst part is probably over. Best wishes for the rest of your journey in Oz together. :):):)
