So, it was granted nine months after my application was sent in and six weeks after the request for more information, though I think if I'd been able to turn in my FBI clearance earlier it would have been granted earlier!

I hope everyone starts hearing some news soon. Fingers crossed for you all!
Congratulations Inkhearted, you must be thrilled! I applied in August 2013 and submitted police checks and medicals in September 2013 so they should have all the necessary information. Hopefully the next few months should bring some good news.

Thanks, we are so excited! So nice not to be waiting, waiting, waiting anymore. I know we're lucky to have been approved in 9 months--there are some who have been waiting much longer!

Hi there.
I'm in the waiting room to.
I lodged my 820-801 partner visa through registration relationship end Dec 2012 afterwards got BVA till my student visa ceased then now been waiting almost 13 mths heard nothing from DIAC.

Is anyone know is that mean something wrong with my app? Or anything sign of refusal?
Just a little worry.but trying to be positive minded.

Also.is that 2years waiting period mean:
2years after we lodged partner visa app/
2years after we granted the 820 visa???

Last. Because I submitted my app as decision ready so I done all the medical and police checks but as we know it over 12 mths since then so do I have to redo them?

Well.let hope so all we done gonna be worth for better future in Australia as we love this country that we called home.

Hi San333--how frustrating to be waiting for such a long time! The good news is, after the 13-month mark I believe they are supposed to allow you to call in and enquire (before this point, they won't answer any questions). So you should be able to call in and ask about the status of your application at the end of the month.

I doubt there is anything wrong with your application. A lot of people are waiting 13 months or more, including several people on this thread. It sounds like they are completely backlogged with applications due to some budget cuts which means fewer people are able to work on them. So, don't give up hope!

The two years you have to wait to be eligible for the 801 starts from the time you submit your application. There's one good thing about waiting so long--you will be eligible for the 801 in December of this year if your application is approved!

Unfortunately, I believe you will have to get your police checks and medical done again. Both are only good for a year, so they've likely expired at this point.

San, Inkhearted is absolutely correct - the two year wait to qualify for permanent residency begins when you *lodge* the 820 application. So you'll be there before you know it!
