Hope so too. Sometimes it's good to gather more information before applying and the arrangements of the documents makes it interesting and easy to glance through. I was surprised about grant time. When I received the parcel I thought my documents has been rejected but lo and behold the grant letter was inside

Hi Papper and Salt - congrats on your grant. It's actually very common for PMV-to-820 applicants to get a grant that quickly. You actually don't need medicals or police checks, generally. Glad to hear your good news - enjoy your spouse visa, and mark your calendar so you remember to start preparing to provide documents for your 801 in a couple of years.

Yeah, I was 1 week short of 16 months. My 457 was due to expire in March, so very relieved as my company don't like bridging visas

I just got a grant email, no other contact since i submitted

can you apply for the 801 2 years from the date you applied for the 820 or is it 2 years from the date you were granted the 820?

As it stands now I need to wait for the immigration department to send me the documents for the 801. And I believe it will take 2 years for them to send those documents or less. I got my 820 in July last year

Guys, you're eligible for 801 2 years after you have submitted your application, not 2 years after you have had your 820 granted. So you should be eligible for 801 in less than a year if your visas have taken approximately 15 months to be granted. Add 3 to 6 months of processing time for 801 and you should be Permanent Residents in a max period of a year and a bit. Good luck.
