Question-refused visa

Hi All,
I am a new member here, but I already been follow your website long time ago, please help me in my question ,

I am applying for Student Visa (Subclass 573) - Assessment Level 3 In the visa department in Dubai ,But,I had a refused visit visa while I was 22 years old ( in 2003 ) From Australian embassy in Jordan, the reasons as i remember was because I was very young and don't have enough supporting things and no enough reasons to leave Australia after I got my visa, So,do i need to mention that in my new visa forum?there is a question in the forum about did i apply to Australia visa before and need just say yes or no, no further option for yes _refused.

I need an advice please, Should I go for No?I do not have the embassy letter ( it was 7 years ago ) ,or i say Yes?
and how much this will impact my visa decision if I just say Yes?
really this case is confusing me

Thank You !

Hi Exactly,

It's the Easter long weekend in Oz, and many other western countries, so maybe that's why one has replied yet

Anyway, I think you should always be honest with immigration. The fact that you applied for the previous visa when you were younger and not so financially stable may be overlooked now that you are older and hopefully much better able to support yourself.

DIAC has records of all past visas that people apply for and are granted or refused, so they should have some information about your last visa and why it was refused. You will only really know when you apply whether they will accept it. If you are still really concerned I suggest asking a Migration Agent for help. There are some on this fourm, so you can search for them on here.

Hope this helps

Hello

As your matter was 7 years ago, you should obtain a freedoms of information (form 424a) based on exactly why your visa was refused. The cost is $30AUD, your info will be given in a reasonable time, & does not matter what part of the world your in. Under s66 notification must state which criteria was not meet, and it must contain reasons for the refusal.

Then, based on that information you should have exact information on exactly why your visa was refused. Also, there is a student checklist (DIAC website) that you should look into which itemizes what documentations you are required to obtain & forward. If you have all supporting documentations & financials you will not have any problems.

As aussiegirl said be honest in your answers, as of cause your circumstances changed from 7 years ago.

Hello,

The fact that you had a visa refusal 7 years ago, it would be a good idea to obtain that letter under the freedoms of information (form 424a, a $30AUD fee, and will receive within a reasonable time) to understand the exact reasons why the refusal.

Your circumstances would have changed from 7 years ago, and be mindful that maybe some criteria’s have also changed under subclass 573. There is a student check list of the required supporting & evidence required before lodging this visa.

As assuiegirl stated answer truthfully if you have been refused answer yes, because if you answer no and old file is pulled out with a visa refusal of 7 years ago it will become a BIG PROBLEM for you.

Look at the criteria’s you need to satisfy, and the supporting documentations required, and if you have all without issue you should not have a problem obtaining the visa. The situation would be different for a visa that was refused in Australia, as you cannot reapply while you remain in Australia.
