Good day!

1.You have to commit to the state you were nominated to (any city within it) for two years.
2.Not sure
3. You can apply or citizenship after spending 4 years as permanent resident (including not being absent from Australia for a total of 12 months) and other requirements which you can look up over google search.
4. Not sure.

take care.

1) to activate your visa, you simply need to arrive in Australia. It doesn't matter where
2) your sponsorship is with South Australia and you've applied with a commitment to live and work there for 2 years. If SA complains to DIBP, it's possible your visa will be cancelled although it seems this isn't frequently done. But you should be aware it is possible. As far as I know, the only impact on citizenship would be if your visa would be cancelled.
3) Australian Citizenship – Becoming an Australian Citizen
4) tourist visa depends on where she's from. Time for PMV also depends on where she applies from. You should review the Immigration website for these two visas for more information.

I wa reading that living in that state is a moral obligation and not a legal obligation. It is that if i dun get the job i can move to other state ... any one who an make sure abt this ...

on website it is also written that can work and live anywhere in australia ?

Brother, I am also from your country, your post sounds like you don't give too much importance to MORAL OBLIGATION????? I am sorry but I don't know why I am uncomfortable with your post, as you plan to directly land in Sydney while you should be thankful to your nominated state, if you don't want to live in that state then you musn't apply for the nomination, soon we will see that these moral obligation will become the legal obligation, a big thanks in advance to you.

hello burning-ice,
may I ask how long it took you to get the visa approved, from the time you lodged the application?

You made a commitment to live in the sponsoring state for the first two years. While its not strictly speaking a condition of your visa, your visa can be cancelled later if the DIBP see that you had no intention of living in the sponsoring state.

The point of State Sponsorship is to address local skill shortages. If people apply to one state and then live in another, it defeats the object. People that genuinely intend to live in a state but cannot find any work can often ask to be released from their commitment.

It's because of people who abuse the visas like this, that make it hard for genuine visa applications.
I hope your visa gets cancelled.
Honestly, you don't think immigration and other government agencies don't read these forums?

South Australia is not that bad. In fact, it's a very good place to live and work. And, two years is not a long time. We all have to make compromises to get what we want, and you should be thankful to SA because without it, you'd probably not have a visa to live in Australia at all. I have lived in both Sydney and South Australia - they are quite different in terms of the size of the city, and the amount of people, but they are both great places to live and work. I don't know why everyone flocks to Sydney - I love it, but any other city in Australia is just as good. It's not worth getting your visa potentially cancelled over.
