subclass 190 to citizenship

Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask for an advise from you's in regards to my citizenship application to be lodged in October 2014. I know it's way too early but I'm already starting to organise things for myself.

Here is a brief History of my stay in Australia.

Arrived in Australia: Jan 27, 2008 (student visa)
June 14, 2008 July 19 2008 - Malaysia (Holidays)
April 4, 2009 -April 18, 2009 (Holiday) 14 days
August 22, 2011 (subclass 485 found invalid (BVE). Went back to home country 6months approx
March 8, 2012 October 16 2013 - Returned to Australia on a 457 visa
March 16, 2013 - April 20, 2013 (holiday) 35 days
October 16 2013 present (subclass 190).

I believe that I need to have lived in Australia for the past four years with a valid visa, 12months as a permanent resident, wasn't overseas for three months for the last 12 months prior to application. I would like to double check it with you guys to be sure.

Please correct me if I'm wrong or have missed anything!

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you very much!

You are right about the requirements. There is a residence calculator on the immigration website. You can use that too to be sure before applying.

Use the wizard:
Australian Citizenship – Becoming an Australian Citizen

I think once you are on a BV E, all those time spent prior to that are not counted.

What period of time was there between your 485 being invalid and you getting the bve? Did you have to apply for the bve? A bit more info would be handy - if you were unlawful at all, then the time before this wouldn't count and you won't be eligible until 2016.
