Last Minute Applications Just Before June 1st

Hi Folks,

Recent changes that Aus. Immigration made pretty much messed up my plans and now I am not eligible for MODL and in short of 10 points for 175.

Having said that, I took EILTS and was hoping to score 7 in each band but got 8 on all except 6.5 for reading. So, I need to retake the test and next test is on May 8. The results are sent after 10 business days and I should receive it by May 21.
As you can see that does not leave me much time before new rules kicks in.

In short, which way would be the best way to submit my application for 175?
Online applications or just send the paper application with next day delivery to DIAC (assuming I get 7 for all bands in EILTS)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have seen on the immigration site, their recommendation re online applications for best processing of skilled visas but with further information that is coming from the immigration department re seminars and ministerial announcements on new regulations [ still an unknown date for implementations, though new financial year seems targeted ], it may be best to remain somewhat flexible in your approach, ie.

There is more and more emphasis on the employer sponsor approach to extent of words like " emplasis on ES will mean reduced opportunities for independent skilled applications and ones under SMPs will have priority "
So even with any transitional arrangements [ also unannounced ], people with occupations on the CSL as it is may still be waiting a bit.

If you have an occupation not on the CSL, you could be in the never never region.

My occupation is not in CLS. Cannot wait for new SOL because thats not certain. I might not be in the list (Software Eng..)
I got everything including the certificate from ACS. All i need is to score 7 in IELTS.
Do you happen to know if the processing day start when DIAC receives my application? Or Once a case officer is assigned?

Thanks again.

The only bit of processing that will occur when an application is received is that it'll be registered as being received.
A CO may not be assigned until a number of months after that, perhaps even much longer after with new regulations being introduced.
