Change to our living situation during visa processing

Hey guys,

My Australian boyfriend and I (Danish) finally sent our De Facto application early last week, and we've both received a confirmation that they've got it and we've also paid the fee, but we've not yet been assigned a CO.

In the application we stated that we were living together. However Joel, my partner, has to return to Australia in a weeks time as his visa here has expired. Do we need to report this to the Visa office?

Also, regarding the telephone interviews - am I (main applicant) the only one who's going to be interviewed, or will they interview us both (he is my sponsor).

Thanks for your time,
Eva

Yes Eva, you should let Immi know of Joel returning to Australia for they'll know that anyway if they reference immigration ops records, we all being monitored by BBro when it comes to coming and going.

But there's no drama in that and something many couples have to do.

It is more the applicant that is to be interviewed and there're some examples in the sticky link of what can be expected and some hopefully not to be - seems local employees in some countries think they have a right to be nosier than they need to be, but most interviews are fairly simple.
If a CO thought Joel ought to be interviewed too, they would probably arrange for that to happen back in Australia.

Best wishes for a speedy result.
