Visa and job enquiry (MINE JOBS) need some advice!

Hi there,

Ok So am new to this, am looking to go to oz next year on a skilled visa. I have my brother out there who is going to sponsor me, but that alone does not qualify for entry and it looks like I will have to get a job also, before they let me in.

So am just wondering on how about to find a job, if say my timeline is end of march next year. Obviously you cant expect companies to hold a job for you for that length of time.

I just wondered if anyone had some advice for me in this field. I was told that I could try and get a job in the mines either driving dump trucks or working as a lab technician.

Does any one have experience in this field?

Thanks
Hope someone can help

Mel

You do need specific skills one way or another Mel and you can have a look @ A-Z Occupations List - Australian Skills Recognition Information but you'll find neither dump truck driving nor lab technician there.

With employer sponsorship, family sponsorship is not a factor but your bro may be able to see what is about if you have qualifications/skills for a particular occupation.

Are you under 31 and from a country eligible for the WHV - Visa Options - Working Holiday - Visas & Immigration

Help with job hunt

Hi,

Thanks, I have had a look at the skills LAB Manager is listed but not technician. So am not sure where I stand with that and if there is any flexibility, I could prob try and get work to give me a reference to say that I have had some supervisory skills. Would this help ?

I am from the uk and am now over 31 so I cannot apply for the whole working visa thing.

I studied an HND in biological science but did not complete it. I know having a degree helps.

So ontop of this I cold get my brother to look out for a job. Could I get any job as long as the company is willing to sponsor me, or would it have to be connected the skills list.?

thanks
