As long as you have not been out of the country for more than one year total in the last four years (nor more than 90 days in the last year), and for at least the last year you have been a permanent resident, you'll still qualify.

There's a citizenship calculator on the DIBP website. Use it if you're not sure.

Thing is I have been out of country for more than 16 months in last four years because of my illness. I used the calculator and it says I have to wait until July 2015 to apply. But what happens if I were to travel for a month in 2014. Would it affect the lodgement date in anyway?

Yes, it would, but I can't predict exactly how without knowing what your other travel dates were. Plug it into the calculator with that month in 2014 and see how your eligibility date changes.
