Hi all, 6weeks ago, today, our account was debited for over $3000, and still no acknowledgment email/letter.. Should we continue to wait,or chase this up??

Six weeks is more than enough time - I'd contact them and have them resend. You checked your spam filter, right?

From my own experience & that of a few other recent applicants to the London office, acknowledgement emails have arrived just after the 5 week mark.

As CollegeGirl said, make sure you've checked your Spam filter - I found the email to be quite inconspicuous & didn't immediately recognise it as being from the embassy.

So I just contacted the London embassy and was informed that for PMV, they don't send acknowledgment letters or emails, and that I shouldn't expect to get contacted until after 3months when police checks and medicals will be requested..have I been fobbed off or has there been changes in the last 6weeks!!???

Uh, what? That's the first time I've heard of that policy and I read a UK-specific immigration board regularly. I would try calling again and see if you get someone different. It does sound to me like you got someone who just didn't feel like doing their job. lol.
