Need some help

Hey,

As mentioned in my introduction, I am currently on a 457 visa. My visa got approved in December 2009. Up until december I have been on a working holiday visa since Jan 2009 and on a 3 month holiday visa since dececmber 2008. A total of 17 months. I have signed an internal contract with the company for a 3 year return of service.

Since my visa has been approved, the company seems to be going about things extremely poorly, for example, wrong equipment delivered to site, poor comunication between our company and clients. I am an extremely hard worker and it takes a lot to get me fired up but today, for the first time in my life, i've nearly walked off site in complete frustration!

Basicly the point of my post is, I'd like to know, does anyone know can my visa be transfered to another company and if so, what actions are required by me to do this.
I've heard that I can apply for residency after 2 years but nobody seems to know if it is 2 years living in Australia or 2 years on my current visa.

I'm looking for some basic info before i go spending money on solicitors to make sure everything is done the right way.

Last thing I want is to go home. I love it here!

All replys will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Flinzer.

You can change employers with a 457 but of course you'll need another employer prepared to sponsor and eligible along with a nominated position.
Details @ Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457)

You can apply for an employer sponsored PR after two years on a 457 and at least the last 12 months with the one employer and again there are eligibility requirements to be met by you and the employer.
Have a look at Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

No reason why you can not do it all yourself if you meet eligibility and have a look at the applying for this visa section, a good Checklist there to guide people.
