A couple of Spouse Visa queries.

I am an Australian and my wife of almost a year is a Czech national, we are currently living in Dublin. We have known each other for about ten years, living together since mid 2004 and got married in June last year.

We are in the process of filling out the forms and gathering all the info for the Spouse visa (40sp & 47sp), we pretty much have all the info or are able to get the info we require, I just have a couple of questions that I would like to ask:

- We have read that the Medical Exam (Form 1071i) is best left until after the forms have been handed in, after which the person who is allocated our case will specify whether we need to get an exam done or not. Does this apply to the X-Ray as well?

- In regards to proving that our Relationship is genuine we do not have a joint bank account or anything like that, we had separated accounts before we got married and left it that way, therefore it may be a bit difficult for us to prove the Financial Aspects of our relationship, thus we are a bit concerned that this may hinder us. May this be a major problem?

- Due to us living here in Dublin we don't really know any Australians, apart from one who is filling out the 888 Form, my father who has never met her, he has spoken to her on numerous occasions. Any Aussies that we did know have long since left Ireland, so we only know the one. We are getting a declaration from our landlord stating that we have been living on his property for the past 5 1/2 years and our neighbour who is Pakistani is also going to be a witness. Will this be a problem?

Apologies if these sorts of questions have been answered already elsewhere.

I thank you for your time and any help.

The medicals are best left to when requested for that'll give you the maximum ammount of time between grant of visa and time available to travel, a latest enter by date usually a factor of when the medical expires.
Xrays are pretty much mandatory re TB and then depending on where people have lived and other factors will determine the need for the rest.

Have a read of the sticky by elkitten and the best thing with individual bank accounts is to go through and highlight some key household/living together expenses that have come from either persons account if that is how you manage your finances.

If you're still in touch with any of the left Aussie acquaintances and can get them to put together a statement as to when you first met etc., that'll not do any harm but if not statements from the landlord and neighbour should suffice and what of a lease if you have one and it has both names on it and then there'll likewise be bills that can be tied in with bank statements and other stuff like tax returns and the bank accounts etc. with the same address I imagine if you have been there 5.5 years.
And work people/documentation and other friends?, they not needing to be Aussies.

And if you've not read Booklet #1 and the Checklist, to be used btw as in attached to application, you surely should.
