I contacted our case officer and they said a statment from the land lord and more form 888 would be usefull for us in our situation of not being able to provide much documentation. So we asked the landlord to provide a statment and if we can photocopy both our names in the building residents book that we signed and dated when we moved in.. but he denied saying he never legally registered or paid tax on the income from Our rent and he wont make a statment that we live there as he does not want to get in trouble...and he said there is no book with our names in it even tho I remember signing in it. So that kinda sucks.... I though if might be good to get some statments from friends and family in romania and not just form 888s from aussies do statments from people in other countries need to be done at a public notary or somwthing as I dunno whats required for them.

Every country has its own legal system, so use the local form of affidavit or statuary declaration for statements by non-Australians.If you can't provide other evidence, you're going to rely heavily on statements by others, so get as many as possible. Maybe you have some photographic evidence of your living arrangements ? Include statuary declarations by yourself and your partner confirming your living arrangements and explaining why you don't have (much) documentary evidence.

Make sure the photos are dated and have a description on them. Also make sure all the statements refer to the period before you lodged the application and clearly define the dates. If you don't know the actual date, at least refer to the relevant month and year. Provide as much detail as you possibly can and make sure it can be verified later on.

Best of luck.
