309 application Online

Hi guys,

Just needed to write to someone who might understand they insane frustration we're going through. Is there anyone else applying for the 309 partnership visa online?

We had prepared everything for being sent in paper format but then we thought maybe it would be easier online.....we thought wrong .....we spend AGES writing our relationship history statements only to find that they want you to copy and paste the applicants statement into 5 different boxes! .....we still feel like we need the statements from both of us and to be honest i'm a bit annoyed i can't share my side of the story....we also have a problem with a lot of the information they want us to provide such as siblings and step parents passport and ID numbers (Which i think it's crossing the line into an invasion of privacy) and many of the sections won't allow you to move forward unless you have a date! for example the previous travel section....my parter isn't competly sure but you must give a date.....

We're so frustrated.....we have been preparing this for months and today we have been sitting here for hours with paperwork EVERYWHERE.

Can any one else relate or tell us what we should do about these numbers or dates when we don't know the answers!?

Gah!

I'm hoping maybe the online system gives you a place for additional information at some point? I'd use the 1st of the month if you're not sure of an exact date but can narrow down the month. My agent told me that's a pretty common thing to do when I was completing my application and was unsure of the month for something (and then I noted that in the "Additional Information" section in the back and said why I was unsure).

Hi CollegeGirl,

Thanks for your reply.
No so far there is no place for any 'extra' information....only a statement about agreeing that all the information you have given is complete and correct ....
We have filled in all the parts we can are tried to give estimate dates..We're going to upload all the documents tomorrow so i guess we will see what happens! I guess worst case situation we can write a statement explaining it and upload it which they should read....

Mine is a different visa, but also used the online system and I've also submitted a few online nominations - when faced with the text boxes, I've included the basic information to answer the question, then concluded with "See attached document "Rhirhi relationship statement" for further information".

I think as long as you provide the basic information in the online system and then have more details or further evidence in attachments, then you've covered all bases. It is frustrating though when you've got your documents all prepared one way and need to rework everything when the application system requests it a different way.

Thanks for your reply Maggie-May24,

Yes, i think that's the only thing we can do....the negative is many of the areas don't give us an option to give an explanation.....only a place to enter dates and countries etc. (which are drop box's....we can't type anything in!)

We will give it a go and see how it works out!

Or you could just lodge a paper application instead....

Actually no we would prefer not to as we would like to apply before the new year to avoid fee increases.

Fair enough. Not sure if there will be any increases after the massive ones we had in July and September.I haven't seen any announcements. But I understand you don't want to run the risk. The fees definitely won't go down !

haha oh gosh, if the fee's went down and we submitted i'd be so annoyed (but at the same time happy for everyone else!)

I'll write an update tonight about how it goes incase future online appliers are wondering the same questions

What a nightmare it's been.....and to think i thought we were organised haha.
We'd organised everything in packs thinking it would be under uploaded under social aspects, financial aspects etc but no EVERYTHING was separate...my partner is so sick of scanning documents. Another confusing part is your can't upload documents until AFTER you have submitted your application.....Not to mention some of the things they want you to load kind of overlap with things you have already loaded.....

We tried to call the immigration hotline for help but now they are on holidays until December 27! agh.
