Question Visa Subclass 885 -No CSL

Hello Everyone

I have applied for skilled migration subclass 885 last year august. My application is not under priority processing. I have been told that it would take two years from the date of application to finalise my visa.

So, if this is the case, I will get the visa before september, 2011.

Can any one confirm me or could give me a broad idea about 885 visa no CSL Processing Procedures.

I had got 1 year experiance on my profession ( company accountant) from my employer before i applied for 885 visa.

I do not know who told you two years and it would be most difficult to put a precise date like September 2011 on when you may have a visa granted.

Immi last year in their September23 announcement did indicate that some classifications of visas would not likely be processed before the end of 2011 or 2012 [ 2011 for onshore visas possibly ].

That wording means processing may occur any time from 2012 on and the inability for even Immi to be more precise is that visa processing will be affected by prioritising of visas and not occur by date of receipt.
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...processing.pdf has details of priority order now effective.

You certainly would have been better to get an IELTS 7 score and that way accountancy would have been on the CSL.

Seeing as you are employed, have you spoken to your employer in respect to getting an employer sponsored 457 and then in two years you may be able to apply for PR that way.

Thanks wanderer for your quick reply,

I have got to know about 2 year processing time from immi website; link attached

immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm

Currently, I am in graduate skill visa. My visa will be expired next year January and after that I will be on Bridging visa (A) till i get any decesion for my application.

My Emplyoer tried to put me on ENS but I did not have 3 years experiance, i will get my 3 full years experiance next year july,

It is good that they have updated the Client Service Charter for it was in need of occurring.
What they have put there is somewhat in line with the September 09 announcement, though their reference to September 07 is somewhat misleading and already has not been achieved for many.

They have also changed their opening preamble somewhat for previously it was stated in a preamble that times were indicative of targets to be achieved for 75% of visa applications, there being more focus on the number of factors that can cause variances.

I'd not be too surprised that variances will still occur.

Meanwhile, if your employer was to consider an ENS then why not the 457 visa?

Thanks for your reply,

I did not find any advantage to apply for 457 visa. Now I have got medicare and also getting most of the facilities of any permanent residents.

Good thing is that I have applied for permanent residency. Now I am wating for the result.

If i had 457 visa, i have to wait 2 years to apply for PR. Then I have to wait to get result for my application.

I beleive that there is no consistency on Australian Migration Policy. It is better to apply for it as early as possible.

I would not rely on anything happening in 2011 for whoever has told you about two years may have been referring to information put out in September 2009 based on the prioritisation of visas and numbers at the time.
The actual wording at the time was that onshore visas would not likely be addressed before 2011 [ meaning it was likely that they may be addressed anytime from 2011 on ]
Client Service Charter gives another indication but you need to note the wording on variations.
Meeting the charter targets will also be affected by the new focus on employer sponsored visas and currently there are somewhere about 140,000 [ and continually increasing ] applications queuing for about ~50,000 places annually.

All visas sit in a pool and are extracted for processing in accordance with priority and as available capacity of the system allows.
If higher priority applications are received, they will be processed ahead of lower priority applications.

If you have an employer you have been with for a year and there is mutual satisfaction, you may want to talk to your employer about an employer sponsorship visa and if eventually they are eligible and prepared to opt for permanent residency sponsorship, that can be fee free for you seeing as you have already made a PR application.
