Prospective Marriage Visa

Hi,

I'm almost finished with my visa application for the subclass 300 visa. I'm planning to submit it in Bali when I go there on the 27th or 28th.

I have my statement plus 2 statements , 1 from my dad and 1 from my brother. My partner also has his statement plus 1 statement from his dad and 1 from his sister. We don't have any from friends, do you think this will make a difference?

Also, my partner and I only talk visa Skype, Facebook and apps on iPhone (wechat and viber). I only have screenshots of a few Skype and Facebook conversations for over the 3 years we've been together. Do you think this will be enough?

Has anyone else had a visa from Indonesia to Australia rejected, and why? Are there any tips at all that will make a dofference between getting the visa granted or not?

Thank you in advance, I'm so terrified!

I heard that statements from friends weigh more than family as family will lie for you but friends won't. But if you can't get any from friends that should be fine.

Facebook and Viber you can export the chat history into a word/excel document. You can then extract some chats to show that you are chatting regularly and planning for the future. They don't want the entire chat history but they want to be able to see you are communicating. I am not sure how many a few is but if it is only like 3 or 4 honestly, I don't think that is enough to show you are in regular contact. With skype you should be able to get a history of the last 6 months, from what I have heard.

I have about 12 screenshots in total for Facebook and Skype combined. I have 1 or 2 screenshots from Facebook and Skype for each year from the last 3 years.

If they don't think the family statements are good enough would they generally ask me to get a friend statement or just deny the visa?

And do you think it's better to have the conversations in a word document? I have screenshots because I thought that would be better to prove that we're actually on Skype and Facebook and that I'm not making it up

Screenshots are fine, definitely get friends or workmates statement if possible.
I believe it is possible to get a history of Skype and viber (I read this on another thread) sorry don't know how but I am sure if you ask at the phone shop they will know.
You do seem a little light on in the proof stakes otherwise, especially given that it is 3 years

The only issue is that I'm leaving tomorrow to go to Bali for 8 days and am hoping to apply while I'm there. I would need friends to get the stat dec certified before tomorrow morning and unfortunately all my friends work so I don't think we'd get a chance to get it certified

I have had a look on all my computers for history on Skype and have managed to get a few conversations because I didn't want to bombard them with screenshots. I was told it's best to not have too many so that's why I only got a couple from each year together. Do I need actual conversations that discuss our future plans as a screenshot? We mostly call on Viber for that this is sooooo stressful!

I do however have about 30 photos of is together.

Do you think I should add a copy of my fiances visa grant letter? From when he came to Australia for a holiday?

Definitely add the visa grant letter (this swings things in your favour) also photos of him with you in Australia and hopefully with you and your friends/family. Write on the back of the photos the date and who is in the photo eg John (Bali Boy) & I with friends rob and sue in Australia. Have you got copies of plane tickets of when you travelled to meet each other if so then add that.
Some people say on the forum say not to bombard them but personally I believe supply them with what you have and you will not be asked for additional information which slows down the process

I think you are a bit light on the evidence considering you have been together for 3 years. They don't seem to care if in word or screen shots as long as they can see that you are in regular contact.

Does it matter about the contents of the screenshot messages or is it just that we have to prove we've been in contact? How many would you recommend for Facebook and Skype for the past 3 years?

I've also just had a look at Viber and it only shows our call history up to 29/11/13

Should I get screenshots of our history of WeChat (another app we use to message)?

Sorry about all the questions

If you can demonstrate that you use a variety of forms to communicate it will go more in your favour. So try to demonstrate the use of different forms eg. facebook april 2012, wechat june 2013 viber back to nov. Don't stress just gather the info that you have

If you do not have time to get your friends to have documents certified (though I am sure if you ask they will do everything to make it happen, they only need to be signed by JP) just gather the unsigned statements with your friends contact details on their statement and submit them anyway. (I did this and I know others who also have done this).
