student visa denials

hey

just wondering what are the reasons for denying a student visa? Do they have to be concrete or can they be suspicions? Do they have to be based on documents not being correct or health or character checks?

I am just wondering.
Thanks, if anyone knows this.

There are particular criteria that do need to be met for student visas, re approval, finances etc. and I suspose it'll be how an application is seen to be meeting those that will determine whether any suspicion is raised.

I have read comment that because of the numbers involved if an application met with the standard requirements, it would nearly be a sure thing though they could always have computers programmed to highlight specific targeted areas.

But have a look @ Visa Options - Students - Visas & Immigration
and that takes you to Non Award Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 575) - Assessment Level 1 where you'll see that there are still health and character requirements.

He fulfills all of the criteria. Now we are waiting. I am just wondering if they can deny you on suspicion or if they have to evidence that there suspicion is real. He has all of his documents to prove financial stability etc, medical and character things. So, yeah.

I guess it is waiting now. Hopefully this time it will be accepted. If anyone has any experiences it would be great to hear them.

There are hundreds of thousands of student visas processed each year and a lot of the processing will I imagine be based on computerised acceptance of appropriate documentation.
In that type of scenario, it is also not uncommon for systems to be programmed so as look at areas that may have provided previous difficulties, ie.
. Financial requirements not adequate re people from various countries and they may also have other factors like courses or particular recruiters that cause something like that to be flagged.
. Area of study and courses/colleges nominated is also something that will likely be more closely looked at given problem areas that have developed recently.

I'm not saying that surfing [ if that is still what's planned ] would be targeted just because it may not be too high on numbers of applicants but even if it was flagged and your Bf meets all the criteria, it shoulkd not be an issue.
