AUSFIS Organization Services

Hello everyone!

I am from Portugal and have filled in details in this website:

http://www.ausfis.org/_sys/EN/four_w...FSTKtAodp04AyA

Less than two weeks later, an immigrant consulter contacted me and advised me to apply due to my level of English, studies (Physical Education teaching degree) and the fact that I have family living in Melbourne that offered themselves to be my sponsors.

However, I am pretty afraid to mess things up. Can anyone tell me how the application process works? How much will it cost me the hole process? If you pay the services and then you have to pay for all the paper work that they require during the process? (etc.)

Thank you all for your kindness!

Rita

I don't know anything about this company, but I cannot find any obvious evidence on their web-site that they employ MARA registered agents. The company name does not appear on the MARA list of UK based registered migration agents either. They don't seem to be members of the Migration Institute of Australia or the Migration Alliance and their terms state the following :

Dispute Resolution. You agree that all matters relating to your access to or use of the Site, including all disputes, will be governed by the laws of Cyprus without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. You agree to the personal jurisdiction by and venue in the District Court in Larnaka, Cyprus and waive any objection to such jurisdiction or venue.

I am not saying that this is not a reputable firm, but Australian Registered Migration Agents normally display their registration number (MARN) and other credentials clearly on their home page.

If the agency is registered with MARA, you can be sure they have met the criteria of membership which includes sufficient education and training on Australian immigration laws and regulations. As well, if for any reason you feel they have acted incorrectly, you would have the ability to lodge a complaint with MARA.

If they aren't MARA registered, you run the risk that they don't sufficiently understand Australian immigration and you may have little ability to complain about their services.

The immigration fees are published on the DIBP website, and any fees for medical checks, police checks, IELTS assessments, skills assessments should be available through the agencies that will provide those services. As for the immigration consultant fees, that will be up to them to tell you and for you to decide if they are reasonable. You may want to 'shop around' to compare them to others before you commit to using them. That doesn't mean you shop for the cheapest, but you can look at whether their fees are similar or very different from other services.

It's strange that it even says that as the contact number is in the UK.

A quick search on google for this company associates them with scams...

Stay clear from any companies that do not clearly display a MARA number. Always look up who is behind the business and check where they are based etc. A fancy website means nothing. Legitimate agents display their MARA number an you can check their credentials on the MARA website. Don't get involved with shonky operators.

As stated above, always use a MARA registered agency.

The paid assessment 'service' this company offers is also something that the majority of MARA registered agents will offer as a free initial consultation. There's simply no reason why anyone should use a company like this.

Firstly I need to go to the australian embassy here in Portugal, i know... But I already contacted them and it seemed that I wasn't pretty clarified on which steps I need to take to star the immigration process...
