What Does Teams mean in DIAC?

hi,
I applied for Visa Sub Class 175 (C/C#/C++ Specialist) on February 06, 2010. My case was assigned to CO on March 18, 2010. In CO's mail informing me about case status and requesting me some more documents, Team-04 was also mentioned.

Mail was sent to me from:
Direct Email address removed
Another important notice was attached at the end of mail saying:

IMPORTANT NOTICE
[I]If you are submitting scanned documents for attachment to your application
which has been allocated to a case officer in Team 4, these should be
emailed to:
Direct Email address removed

A friend of mine told me (although i am not sure) that cases are assigned to different teams and these teams have different working style. For example, Team-04 usually requests Form-80 & Form-1221 at the very early stages after case lodging, whereas Team-02 usually ask about these documents after verification of employer etc almost towards the end of case.

Please answer:
  1. How Teams work in DIAC?
  2. Is any priority given to cases assigned to any specific team?
  3. Does one team works more faster than other teams?
Please do not post any direct email addresses, particularly those of third parties.

I was assigned to team 2 and I too was asked for form 1221. I just think they are assigned randomly depending on the case officer assigned to you. I think we are thinking too much into this kind of stuff. We'll never come to know what each team does.
My CO was assigned on the same date. Please keep in touch and we can share our experience.
Good luck and take care.

As duk indicates, do not be concerned with teams as it is just that you have quite a number of COs and support staff and as a way of management to ensure consistency of application consideration and performance, COs are organised into groups [ called teams ] and they will have a senior CO or manager called a team leader and team leaders reporting to another management level.
I would pay little heed to someones theory about different teams doing different things.
