Question State SPonsorship and the new SOL

Hello,

My application for ACT state sponsorship is accepted on 13th-April 2010 and I am expecting my results. Now my current skill occupation ACS-2231-79 is not included in the new SOL list.

So how is it going to affect me? Can I lodge the PR application if I get the positive response from ACT for state sponsorship?

hi ataro

it looks like you have applied for the computing proffessional occupation. well according to the new SOL only ICT business analyst is available. it applies to general IT occupations this time.
as for applying... its better u wait coz they will not accept any applications of 176 at the moment until 1st july. if u do apply now.. they will send it back with the refund. wait till the changes are activated and probably you could put the new code for your occupation.
also new state migration plans are going to be released.. so just check on that as well.

Offshore/Onshore?
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...aq-new-sol.pdf is worth a read and offshore applications are not being accepted at the moment and likely will not be until the new SOL is implemented.
It would seem that you will need to get an ACS assessment for an occupation on the new SOL if you are offshore.

If you are onshore, applications against the old SOL can still be made though priority will have an impact.

Hello,
My ACT state sponsorship application is accepted for ACS-2231-79(Network/Firewall Specialist) Am I eligible to lodge the PR application under new SOL? It's an off-shore application.

You'll need to have an ANZSCO coded occupation as per new SOL.

So do I need to get the ACS assessment again? Or how can I proceed with my application?

The ACS have a transitional assessment process in place but yes, one way or another you'll need an ANZSCO coded assessment.

Hello,

I received an email from ACT, with the new SMP list. How can I find my eligibility to lodge the PR application? I have my ACS for ACS-2231-79(Network/Firewall Specialist).

Appreciate your quick reply.

You first need to see if the ACT have your classification on the SMP and you can use http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule4.pdf to see what matches the 2231-79
The wording at the top of the SOL#4 is not as explicit as I would have made it, ie., it not to me being 100% whether mapping across means for a valid ASCO code you just use the new ANZSCO code.
I'd have a read through the new FAQ of the SMP links on the What's New Page and see if something clearer is there and if you are still not 100%, discuss it with Immi.

I got ACT SMP list and the matching nominations for 2231-79 Network Security Specialist are following.

262112 ICT Security Specialist
262113 Systems Administrator
263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer
263113 Network Analyst

So from the above list what Nomination can I user for PR application? Appreciate your reply.
