Thanks James. I hope so. It's two months today since I'm back in Australia and we are missing each other enormously. Don't know how we'll manage to wait four or more months longer.

What I meant was that because your wife is the Indian partner, they didn't ask her in for an interview, or even need the Form 80 Character Assesment by ASEO. I've never heard of a case where a male partner from a high risk country obtained his visa with as much ease and speed as your wife. Maybe I'm completely off track on that... who knows.

Someone i know here also married to an Indian male partner and filed for his spouse visa at Delhi HC in May 2010. If i am not mistaken than he also had a phone interview with their CO. The latest news i got was he also got his spouse visa last week itself and in total it only took about 1.5 months for theirs to come.

I really dont think that just because you are sponsoring your husband should take a longer time than someone sponsoring his wife.

Please be in touch with your CO and ask him/her when can you expect final decision on the application.

Ok, then it must not be anything to do with a male applicant. Any idea why some applications get processed so quickly ? Maybe it's because we have no assets and only had a small wedding that a Form 80 was required. I think that is what is holding it up, as I heard this form always takes a long time to process.

We applied on 5th May in Delhi, and my husband attended an interview in person last week. He was told that it will take three to four more months to get a decision. We are waiting to be assigned a case officer, as our case officer has left.

This uncertainty about the decision is mindwrecking... :-(

I think this whole game depends on the CO, i have read numerous thread where the CO is efficient the file processing is done quickly and the decision is made within couple of months.

Form 80 is required by all the applicants irrespective of what country they are high risk or low risk and their gender.

I would say u just need to find out when you will be assigned a new CO as more development on your file should follow once the new CO is assigned.

Best of luck to both of you!!
