These are gonna be a dumb (few) question(s), but is a duration of 2 months and 29 days in the country acceptable?! Do they actually count 3 months as 90 days? Or 3 calendar months?!

Also are Immi going to get anal at the airport on your return if you just fly out of the country for 1 day?
It seems there's some mixing up going on somewhere for the 676 tourist visa is one where you can request length and number of entries - Tourist Visa (Subclass 676)
But when you get to a validity of 12 months and maximum stays of three months, that's the ETA - ETA (Visitor) (Subclass 976) and ETAs validity from date of grant.

There was in the past a mention of 90 days but I haven't seen that referred to for a while and from what I can see it's three months stays mentioned in Immi info.
Have you found 90 days mentioned somewhere or just on your visa grant?
If they have said 90 days, that's what I'd stick with and for July, August or December, January you'd want to leave by the 28th. of the next and adjust accordingly for February.
If three months is mentioned, arriving and leaving same date of months could be construed by some as three months + 1 day depending on what day you start and finish counting so probably best to attempt to gt a guide on arrival.
I've seen people post on making multiple ETA entries but interesting to see that have a note re repeat visits on the ETA.
If it is a hybrid ETA/tourist visa they have issued and it states multiple entries are fine, it should be even less of an issue.

Hi Wanderer,

It definitely says 3 months each visit. I am not sure if its a 976 to be honest, I will have to check (am asking for a friend). I think also either checking with Immi or on arrival is a good idea, as I want to book flights back out of the country, etc and dont want to be penalised for having to change flights, or worse, overstaying the visa. I'd really hope though that give or take 1 day over the period of 3 months, i.e. 11th Sep to 9th Dec is acceptable to a normal Immi office at the airport!

Thanks for your reply.

Well, then it'll be three months and so why raise 90 days? and yep, sure helps to know what the friend has!
