Unhappy Defacto Visa questions,questions,questions!!!!

Hello everyone,

My partner and i are applying for the defacto visa, we are going insane with this process as we are not going through a migrant agent as we cannot really afford one and after reading everything we needed we thought that we probably didn't need one as everything seemed very straightfoward to us!

Anyway we've got all the forms, 40SP,47SP,80 and 888...I was on a student visa for 2 years and now im applyin for the defacto. ok let me annoy you with my questions now sorry guys!

1. I've got my police check done, now all of a sudden im panicking after reading that i need police checks for countries ive lived in the last 10 years, does that mean i need a police check from my country of citizenship India, if so i guess it's gonna be a nightmare to get one from india! jeez

2. Do i need to provide my birth certificate with my application? If i dont have one here can i just provide a certified copy of my passport? also is it only the first and last page of the passport that needs to be provided?

3. Regarding the statutory declarations we have 3 declarations from aussie citizens completed in form 888 also we are getting declarations from my partners parents, what i wanted to know is can his mom and dad do a combined declaration, and does it have to be in form 888 only or could it be in the statutory declarations forms from the post office? Also i'm aware that my partner and i have to complete our individual declarations does that have to be done in form 888 only or i could do it in it any statutory declaration form...?

Sorry guys to be such a pain guys but im so stressed out with this, there are so many things that we need to look into... i hope it all works out im so worried

Applications are straightforward enough but putting in an application does take a commitment to taking your time to understand what you need to do.
Many people do make the mistake of thinking it may just be a case of filling in some forms without too much effort and that is just a good way to get an application rejected and lose the application fee.

Go to the eligibility and applying for this visa sections via Family - Visas & Immigration , read those sections and Booklet #1 thoroughly and then use the Checklist when filling out the application.
A good idea for many people to have additional forms so you can do a dummy run, making your own Checklist of things to do and then you can use it as your own copy.

Try rushing it or taking any shortcuts from that which the Immi info says is necessary and it'll not work out well.
So yes,
1., you have that right.
2., if the application asks for a birth certificate, you had better get one and supply a certified copy.
3. You may have noticed that on the 888 sta declaration it refers to a person making it and yes, statutory declarations are By an individual and not a couple but if you and people using them do not have a problem using the ones you get from a PO, that's OK.

Using the Checklist and your own list of things to do you just need to work through them and most people take a couple of months or more in preparing an application.
