Process time for off shore 175 application

Hi,

I applied for an off shore 175 GSM on Nov. 2007 , i recived Acknowledgment Of Receipt OF Visa application only and till now i heard nothing from them. I would appreciate if somebody can give me an indication when my application will be assigned to a case officer. Also, if i assign my file to an immigration agent, would it help in shortening the period of process.

Best regards

Nizar

I would not think that using an agent will necessarily do anything for you and your chances of getting the occupation considered anytime real soon are going to depend on what your occupation is.

There is a prioritisation system in place at the moment, you can read of @ http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...processing.pdf
It may be that when State Migration Plans are announced, if your occupation is on a SMP, you should see if there is provision for having your application considered for a particular state to get a higher priority.

That is unlikely to be known for another month or so at the least.

Thank you very much for the fast reply harry,

I applied on Nov. 2007 under 175. You mean that even if my ocupation is not unders the CSL. It will be finalized in 3 year from the date of lodgment. Please say yes lol

Reading the Client Service Charter you may have noticed the word indicative and reasoning there that there can be quite a few different factors that will cause variation.

There is also likely to be regular reviews of the various occupation employment situations and if for instance there is an abundance of System Analysts applications for visas and no employment demand it could mean people such as yourself may have their application ceased and the visa application fee refunded.

That is something which would likewise apply to any occupations where it is thought there are too many applications for minimal demand.

Asco

Dear, when I applied I was specified as Programmer and System Manager under 2231-19 of the ASCO code they did not have dot net or multimedia specifications, now they do have ASCO for dot net which is my specialty, can we change that or it will not really help
