If you only have one years experience, you had better have a read of the ACS site information for you'll find getting an IT assessment requires a minimum of four years.

That is the basis of meeting the occupational requirement to attain the relevant eligibility points for an independent visa.

You may also want to wait until Immi has the new SOL fully established and the various points to be allocated are known and at the same time you may find some new IT classifications may require a minimum of more than four years for a successful assessment.

Hey Wanderer

I think here some missunderstanding occure.....like in immi site stated:

You are eligible to be awarded Australian work experience points if you have been employed in Australia:

•in an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL)
•while holding a visa that allows you to work (this must be a substantive visa or a Bridging A or B visa with work rights)
•for at least 20 hours a week
•in a paid position
•at a skilled level acquired after gaining your qualifications in your nominated occupation or in a closely related occupation on the SOL
•for a period(s) totalling at least one year in the four years immediately before the day you lodge your application.

So i think I can eligible for PR.......what u think?????????????

Points for work experience is just one component of the total eligibility requirement but if you meet all requirements and the points for Australian work experience helps you get sufficient points then for sure use them if you meet those requirements.

But it does not alone give you full eligibility.
