diffrence b/w 457 and 176

i just wanted to know what is the difference b/w subclass 457 and 176. As an IT professional which one is better for me. and can i move my family one both. if not then is there any way to bring my family there. as i had a plan to get married after a year and am applying to DIAC in July or Aug.

457 is non points tested employer sponsored temporary residency, continued validity reliant on having a sponsor.
176 is a state/territory or family sponsored points tested permanent residency visa.
former has a higher priority for application processing.
Suggest you read both sections on Immi site for full details of either, both having provision for secondary applicants.
