how long for 176 if have state sponsorship

HI

I am asking for a friend who has her state sponsorship in WA. She is on the new SOL list and is waiting for July 1, to apply for the Federal part of this...she had to wait 5 months or 6 months to get the WA sponsorship, so she is wondering how long the Federal part of this will take?

thanks for any help on this...I know the timelines are vague it would be great if people had personal stories...
thanks.

Any past personal experiences will be less relevant with the new priority processing in place and Client Service Charter gives an indication of three years but also a lot about variation there and perhaps your friend could want to look for employer sponsorship or whether she will have an occupation on the State Migration Plan and can have a higher priority that way.

Yeah the State Sponsored Visa 176 says 12 months from date of application. so i guess that's the maximum time. she is the second priority list.

She has already received the state sponsorship, so I was just wondering if that would make it shorter but I guess no one can tell me.

Thanks though for your response.

The State Migration Plans have not actually been established yet and so it is uncertain whether an existing state sponsorship will be incorporated within a SMP and that is what your friend ought to so when the SMPs do get announced.
Without being on a SMP, it is also uncertain that processing time would be within 12 months.

We are facing with the same problem. Since May 2010 everything is being so uncertain... We are waiting but... We don't know what we are waiting. We applied for state sponsorship on May, they stopped all the process.

We got our approval on September. It has been told that although state sponsorship has the priority-2, the smp's not announced yet. And without SMPs, 176 visa will assest in category-3

We are worrying about the changes... Just waiting....

I don't know if we find job in Australia in this waiting period, will it change something?
