Pregnant tourist friend

Hi everyone!

I'm basically new here. Dunno if i have the right thread either. Anyways, my tourist friend is about to give birth this July she was granted a 3 month visa and no further stay. Her tourist visa expires on August. She's from the Philippines and no medical insurance. is there a way that she gets a free medical for giving birth? what will happen to her baby when they come back to Phils on August, is the baby's citizenship still be a Filipino or carries the citizenship where the baby was born? will she need to apply for a Philippine passport for the baby?

Thanks for the help.

I find it quite amazing that they even gave her a visa to be here for when the birth was due but that aside, unfortunately no such thing as free medical in that situation.
The sensible thing for her to do would be to get on a plane and go back before the birth.
It'll be up to the Phillipines regulations as to the baby's citizenship and likely to be a Filipino as just being born here will not make it an Australian unless there is an Australian father.
I think there are regulations that allow newborns to travel on a mothers passport but give Immi a ring on that to check.
