MRT appeal process - spouse visa

It's good to be prepared with info, beforehand, just in case our visa is rejected. Can anyone share information on what happens, if one decides to appeal an unfair decision. Is there an extra cost to apply for the MRT?

How long after the visa decision would it take to get a hearing?
Is it held in the same place as the interview was at? Or would it be in Australia? Who are the people on the hearing? Are they Australians from the immigration department?

After reading about the many unreasonable rejections from other posters, I'm extremely worried :-(

Our love and marriage is very genuine, and our application complete and well documented, but it seems that is no guarantee for a visa grant!

Hi skydancer my husband and I waited 13 months for our MRT it was held here in australia in sydney. At the hearing is the member who asks the questions, the interpreter if one is needed.yourself and your lawyer/migrant agent should you have one and any witnesses you might have.some people have an answer after the first MRT some like me may have more than one hearing and waiting for another. The member we have is not australian origin not sure .I hope this helps.also I researched on the net in images and you can find photos of the MRT rooms

Thirteen months!! Oh no! I hope you managed to be together for at least some of that time! I thought if our visa is refused, then I'd go over to India and wait together till the MRT, but I would be going using my credit card to finance the trip. I thought six months would be about average. It's almost two months since I've seen my husband and we're already suffering so much.....

Let's hope and pray that we all have positive visa outcomes real soon.
