820 Partner visa online application

Dear All,

I have an urgent question regarding online payment for 820 onsore Partner Visa application.

I have filled 47SP and 40SP forms in and saved them in my immiaccount.
There is a button "manage payments". We wanted to submit our forms and then pay online via my partner's dad's bank account. However, I've read the Note: 'If your sponsor has paid the visa application charge for you then you must lodge your application by post or in person.'
Does it mean only an applicant can pay with his/her credit card? or is it limited only to a Sponsor?

Sorry guys if my question seems stupid but after reading all these immi changes I'm lost.

thank you in advance for your help!
Ada

Not a stupid question! That comment is in there because sometimes sponsors (in Australia) like to go to Immi in person and pay the fee, then get a receipt. They would then send that receipt to their partner, who would have to submit it with the application.

No worries - it shouldn't be an issue to pay as you have planned.

Thank you CollegeGirl so much!
So you think I can still submit online, don't you?
I believe everyone on the forum would like to be 200% sure about the correctness of our applications.

I have one more question: I have my medical check still valid. I did it in August last year for student visa purposes but it misses blood tests. Should I make an appointment at Medibank upfront without waiting for Immi instructions or should I wait?

Thank you once again!

The medical exam for permanent visa purposes (i.e., a partner visa) is different than the one for the student visa. You'll need a new medical exam, unfortunately. I would suggest using the new system on Immi's website that allows you to get your HAP ID in advance so you can do your medical before you submit. There's a CHANCE you may have to do another medical if they take longer than a year to process your application, but there is a recent history of significantly faster 820 approvals if the application is decision-ready (i.e., medicals and police checks provided with application).

It's a gamble, basically, so you have to decide which you'd prefer - a chance at a much faster visa approval, or an assurance you won't have to re-do the medicals.
