He is from Bosnia. We are hoping it will be granted this month, as most high risk countries appear to be taking around 16 months and a week or two. That's what I have noticed from this forum. Our case worker is really nice it's just the security check taking a long time for everyone. Staying positive

Good Luck Levisa! You guys have been waiting for a long time now and I really am hoping and praying that you get your visa soon. I know how it feels. The wait will be worth it, it's the best feeling
Hoping for a good news soon!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Any experience or information would be much appreciated

Hi Rob

HERE IS SOME INTERESTING ADVICE!!

Like you, we spent several months 'preparing' for our application before submitting it online. We did a lot of reading on this forum and others and had most of our evidence ready. After we actually logged our Immi account and submitted our application, I realised I had made a MASSIVE mistake doing all the preparation. Here's the 2 reasons why ...

1. Once you fill in your Application Form for the 309 (I think it was Form 47?) and pay, your application immediately goes into an automated queue. HOWEVER you can still access your application after that and you can take as long as you want to upload your evidence, it doesn't have to be done when you actually submit your application! So technically you are uploading your evidence whilst waiting to be processed. This is much smarter use of your time, than pre-preparing which takes up time that you could be 'queuing'.

I realised that all those months that we had spent 'preparing' were a total waste of time, if we had opened our Immi Account and sent in our application earlier, we would have been in the 'queue' and could have been processed earlier.

2. The visa price goes up every year. We initially looked at it in 2012 and it was just under $2000. By the time we submitted in September this year, it was $3085!

My advice is ... open that Immi account TODAY and start your application! Also, their checklists are quite useful.

Good luck!
