Tourist Visa's to Aus, big problem

Hi, if anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I am an Australian citizen currently living in Indonesia and have done now for 8 months.

I want to take my girlfriend (Indonesian citizen) back to Australia for a week in October to meet my parents and attend a friends wedding then both of us will fly home to Indonesia.

My understanding is that Indonesian citizens must prove they can afford to stay in Australia which means bank statements for three months showing at least a few thousand dollars..... My girlfriend works full-time for a multinational but only earns around $400pw, her bank statements wouldn't even come close to showing she can afford a stay in Aus.

The thing is I will be happily paying for everything including airfares and we are staying with my family. She has a good job (by local standards) that she has to return to (or we would be there longer) so as I see it she is no chance of overstaying or being poor.

Is there some way of proving to Australian immigration that I will be funding the trip? Does showing this mean she doesn't have to show bank statements? I'm really worried about it all as it is important for both of us that she meets my family.

As I said any help would be greatly appreciated.

You ought to contact the Immi people in Indonesia to discuss the situation with them, go in for a face to face interview if possible and take evidence of her employment with you and explain how you will have return tickets etc.

I am from Philippines and I guess it works the same way here when it comes to tourist visas. She will still have to show I guess her bank statements. I've known someone from here who got a 1 month visa for Australia who only got AU$700 plus in her bank. When I applied for 3 months visa in Oz, I had only AU $3000. My fiancÚ supported all docs pertaining to supporting for me when I get there, live with him, plus my travel expenses. If she doesn't have enough, you could put in her bank some, with an agreement she will return it back. We did the same with my fiancÚ. I put back in his account thru telegraphic transfer all what he put in my bank. There is a matter of trust of course that will be considered here.

Good Luck on your application.

P. S. I got denied twice with the ground that I didn't have enough funds to sustain for my 3 months tourist visa application.
