work experience question

Hi

My friend is applying for a GSM visa 176. You have to have 12 months experience in the one of the occupations on the SOL list - in the last 24 months.

He has more than 12 months experience in the past two years but some of it was distance from Australia to Brazil. Does anyone know if this counts?

He has evidence to prove it.
Or should he simply wait a few more months with his work in Brazil until he has done exactly 12 months with his company in Brazil?

I would appreciate any advice for him.
Thanks so much.

If he was working from a remote location via the internet for his company and is shown by his company work references to still have been employed by them I'd think that should not be an issue.
However, if he took time out in one way or another, perhaps a visa on his Immi file that may infer he wasn't employed to the extent required, then it may be better to wait the few months so as the evidence is more solid.

Yes I see what you mean. Thanks for that advice.
