457 - health insurance?

Hi, I've just got a couple of questions on 457.

1. What are the Insurance companies/plans that most people on 457 go with?

2. Do I have to make the full payment for the insurance before they show evidence of my insurance plans for application lodging?

3. commencement date on letter of offer has past. Can I still use the same letter of offer to lodge?

4. I'm from Singapore but I did a 4years degree in Australia. I am exempted from the English Proficiency, right?

THanks! i really need advice on the health insurance.

IMAN Australian Health Plans - Health Plans for Temporary Residents Working in Australia is the site for one company that specialises in 457 cover and showing you have cover I think you will find is an eligibility requirement.
You probably ought to refresh yourself with all eligibility and applicationrequirements via
Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457)
It is not just a letter of offer you need to make an application for the employer must apply and nominate a position for approval.
You will find english requirements also under eligibility and there is a link to exemptions, five continuous years of study in english being a requirement.

Hi there, to answer your questions:
1. What are the Insurance companies/plans that most people on 457 go with?
Go the the site "457 visa compared" (search via google) and there is a list of providers there with prices of their policies.

2. Do I have to make the full payment for the insurance before they show evidence of my insurance plans for application lodging?
No, you need to sign up and you will get a letter. In more cases you won't be charged will you commence your policy.

3. commencement date on letter of offer has past. Can I still use the same letter of offer to lodge?
The letter you get from the health fund will have your commencement date. This is the letter you need to submit.

Good luck!
