Visa 300 and proof of intent to marry?

Hi guys. So on the subclass 300 PMV checklist it says to show evidence/proof of intent to marry.

How do I go about obtaining this when my partner is not in Australia? My understanding is that we both need to be present at a civil celebrants office for them to be able to lodge paper work on our behalf (we indent to get married in Australia).

Many thanks!

No, only you have to be there to lodge the NOIM.

I did mine a couple weeks ago, find one you like and give them a call, most of them know all about how this these things work.

They need to write a letter stating you have filled out the form and paid a deposit for the wedding.

Cool I'll get in contact with some in my area.

Also can my partner lodge her application now then send them the NOIM and letter later on? Will a delay in presenting the NOIM with the original application effect anything?

Some celebrants will want both of you present for the NOIM. Just find one that doesn't require both of you present.

I would think not having a NOIM or letter from a celebrant would be a bit risky. One of the requirements if that you will marry within 9 months. If you do not have a letter or NOIM at time of lodgement then you are not fulfilling the requirement.

Agents on this board have commented recently that the evidence for intention to marry is at time of application. If you have a letter from a celebrant then yes, you could lodge it but having neither I would not risk it.

Hi dejainc, my fiancee got our NOIM on one of the celebrants in Melbourne. She's nice, if you haven't got a NOIM yet, I can give you her contact details :)
