Question Visa - help needed

Hi,

My partner and I decided to try to fulfill our dream and go to Australia. Can you tell me if there is any hope if:
- we are not married but in relationship for over 5 years (he is South African/Cypriot, I am Polish, we have 2 children together, and there is quite big age difference between us )
- His qualifications are on SOL (State/Territory Sponsored Skilled Occupations List), but for last 14 years he hasn't worked in this field (National Diploma in Hotel Management, for last 8 years he owns successful Pub-Restaurant)
- I have no qualifications at all (I'm willing to study though)

What do you think, is there any chance to get visa for us?
Any help will be appreciated.

The SOL you have looked at is probably the preliminary list that that Immi have produced and the states have yet to finalise their new sponsorship/State Migration Plan listings.
You will find they will be published under the states links under 176 visa eligibility when ready and it would need for an occupation to be on one of their lists and I do not think either hotel or restaurant manager will be on any.
Have a look from Workers - Visas & Immigration to see options from top two links and particularly on the Professionals and Other Skilled Migrants there is a What's New Link for information about processing priorities and when states have their lists ready.
The Visa Options on that page will also take you through to Outside Australia > 176 , eligibility and the different states.
