Question Medical Cleared but still waiting for 6 months

Dear All,

I had submitted my Medical and Police Clearance Certificate in Feb 2010, it is usually expected that visa is granted within 2 -3 months of Medical and PCC.

But, it is taking too long, I have followed up with my CO, and the last response (2 months back) I received is that my Medicals have been cleared but the case has been sent to my country's (Pakistan) for security clearance.

My question is that,

Can I follow-up with someone in this regard as it is taking too long?

Regards
Atif

The higher level security checks for HR countries normally can be about 6 months but given other workloads in that area in recent times, it has been reported that it could be longer and nothing you can do about it other than wait.

Hi Atif!

It would be the Form 80, I think. Were you asked to submit this? I hope you will get your visa soon. Best of luck :-)

Not a good surprise

Dear All,

I applied for GSM 175 visa in last year Aug 2009, My occupation 2231-79 was on MODL and CSL. I was asked for Medical and Police Clearance which I submitted this year in Feb. Since Feb 2010, the status of my application was not clear and when I inquired it on May 2010, I was informed by CO that my case is in security clearance and for my country (High Risk) it takes extra time to complete this requirement.
Upon my recent status inquiry in Aug 2010, I have received bellow response from CO.

“As your nominated occupation is not on the SOL - Schedule 3 and you are not sponsored by an employer or nominated by a State/Territory government in accordance with an occupation on the State Migration plan, your visa application will not be finalised until those visa applications which meet the higher processing priorities are finalised.
This priority processing Direction supersedes all previous Directions and applies to all unfinalised GSM applications with the exception of the subclass 476, 485, 883 and 887 visas identified above. This Direction applies irrespective of whether the application is newly lodged, has been assessed and is in the final stages of processing, or is nominated by a State/Territory government or family sponsor.

If you wish to have your application processed as a priority, you may wish to consider seeking an Australian employer to formally sponsor you.”

And bellow is the priority processing which has been informed:

“Under the Ministerial Direction the following processing priorities (with the highest priority listed first) apply:
1. Applications from people who are employer sponsored under the ENS or the RSMS.
2. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government agency under a State Migration plan agreed to by the Minister.
3. Applications from people who have nominated an occupation on the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) - Schedule 3 in effect from 1 July 2010.
4. All other applications are to be processed in the order in which they are received.”

According to this my application is on priority 4, Bellow are my questions in this regard:

a- What could be the expected time frame for finalizing my application at this priority?
b- What can I do to prioritize my application?
c- Can I change my occupation to the one which is on new SOL and gets higher priority?
d- Upon revocation of MODL, points which I claimed for MODL will also be deducted?
e- Can I withdraw my application at this moment and if I do so, will I be returned any fees which I have deposited?

Looking forward for response in this regard.
Best Regards

Atif

You have to launch a new application if you can qualify for priority 1,2 or even 3. Other wise forget you ever launched any application.

After medical & police clearance

I have submitted medical and police clearance. what is the next step? Does it mean that all the verifications have been completed or third party verification for job and other things are yet to be done?
