visa extention

I am wanting to apply for an extention to stay here in Oz longer then marry my boyfreind I already talked to someone who says it is very unlikely that i will get approved for the visa extention but i also talked to an immigration wrker who suggested it. I dont feel gud about it and am concerned that i will be wasting my time nd my boyfriends time as we are going to apply together next month. does nyone here know about this extention or has nyone received either a denial or acceptance. please help!! time is ticking against me

All visa applications are considered on their merit and there are various factors taken into account like where a person is from, what they may want the visa for, how will they support themselves etc. so it's really impossible with some visas to say what will happen.
