Federal Police is the way to go. Very sorry to hear about what you are going through. It is very unfortunate as to how low people can get. Act as if everything is alright.
Do not tell them that you are onto them and are going to notify the authorities. They can't do anything to you. The police should act on it immediately because there is a 5 month baby involved.
And then inform Immigration as soon as you know the police is keeping an eye on your family.

As kangaroogirl said in her post it's these people who have made our lives a living hell. Such people should be given maximum punishment. Because of them other legit couples have to face so many difficulties. Arghhh!!! It's so frustrating....

There are so many people on this forum who have been married for years and also have kids but they go through the same process because of these selfish and heartless people. I hope you everything works out for you and stay safe.
Good luck to you!

Kind Regards,
Becky

She has a baby with her boyfriend they are both ICE addicts she is nineteen and is unable to form a bond with the baby and the baby is being looked after by her mother this is why this gang have targeted her as it is being very convenient for them to say that the baby is his This has been fixed though because the baby is now under the legal guardianship of her mother as of last Friday I believe. This is when all the threats started.
Problem is both of the parents of the baby are too scared to go to the police and absolutely petrified of what this gang have promised to do to them now.

You said he paid large sums of money to enter Australia, and it sounds like he's using some sort of illegal people smuggling type ring to get needy women to take money and sponsor these creeps.

Don't you worry about that guy, he's perfectly aware that it's not ok to pay money to have a fake marriage arranged in order to get into Australia. He has not been duped but I'm sure he will play Mr innocent.

Sounds like a desperate young girl has accepted money from some very bad people.

You need to stop screwing around and go to the AFP quite frankly. You also need to get this girl to immigration and explain the whole thing, and have their asses removed from the country asap.

I suggest the corrupt cops is all empty threats intended to keep you quiet. This story is just too horrible

I bet this goes on all the time. No wonder it's such a nightmare to get our partners here

It's all just getting more and more convoluted. I'm struggling to understand the finer points of this issue.

So, your family member was a new mother and an ice addict when targeted by a gang who offered her a large sum of money to sign forms stating she was married to an Indian man. This man then subsequently managed to get his visa into Australia and now your family member feels guilt for committing fraud but can't do anything about it due to threats on her life?

This gang have many people on their "payroll" including people high up in the police force and a marriage celebrant (who I presumed was the one who facilitated the sham marriage?).

Now, they want photos of themselves with her 5 month old baby? Is that to have evidence for the permanent residency visa? Since the Indian guy is already in Australia? Or is the Indian guy in Australia on another visa and is still waiting for an answer to his partner visa application?

I agree with the above poster in that it's very unlikely that they have police officers on their payroll. I mean, if they did have corrupt officials in their pockets, they aren't going to advertise the fact since their power depends on this corrupt officials not being known to be corrupt - they have task forces whose job it is to seek out corrupt police officers and charge them with corruption. Same with the marriage celebrant, if he/she gets caught then they will lose their licence and won't be any use to the gang. It's incredibly unlikely that this gang are going to advertise who their helpers are and risk losing their helpers altogether.

Ok.....I'm going to say it! Have you witnessed any of this with your own eyes? Can you corroborate any of this goings on with first hand experience? I ask only because your family member is a habitual ICE user, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that she is suffering from paranoid delusions.....

I'm not trying to make light of the situation, and if it is true than you need to take action immediately. I firmly believe that illegal immigration gangs absolutely exist!!! 110% I just find it a lot more difficult to believe that they are so sophisticated as to have the police force in their pockets. Something doesn't add up....

Thank you all for your understanding and your very much appreciated suggestions.
I am sorry to have troubled you with our problems but I am trying to find a solution to our problem. The person I am trying to help is my granddaughter who is nineteen and is so involved with her addiction she got involved with some Asian men and women and a group of drug dealing bikies who first enticed her with drugs then got her to commit criminal acts to feed her habit until she graduated to this level at the time she did not know what was happening and only realised when the guy who was supposed to be the celebrant marrying her said to the man she was marrying you may kiss the bride she was shocked out of her drugged haze and ran realizing what she had been party too. She told the police and within one hour she was receiving terrible threats of having to pay them back what she had been paid by being prostituted or death. The information of where she was could only have come from the Police. There that is the story and thank you once again I will just have to keep on looking for help somewhere else

It's not a trouble for us to help you with your concerns. I was not making light of the situation or scoffing at your story, I just wanted to clarify if you have first hand experience. I have professional experience with drug addicts, and understand psychosis and have heard similar stories from addicts at the height of their addictions.

Please don't feel like anyone is minimizing your experience. What you describe with the police just doesn't mesh with my experience.

So, it was an Asian gang who paid her the money to sign the documents? She didn't realise that she was actually agreeing to marry the man in question?

If she's truly the victim of a gang this obviously dangerous than run, not walk, to the federal police and ask for their protection. They can relocate her, put her in a safe house etc. Yes, those things exist in Australia.

I'm not sure what else to suggest if you truly feel like you can't go to the authorities....can you afford private protection? Turn your house into a fortress. Add a spyhole to your front door. Keep a bucket of rocks by your bed. I just don't know what else to suggest

ETA: actually, get her into rehab ASAP! Put her in the nearest hospital that has a rehabilitation program (not residential home) and demand that she be admitted as a security patient/client. What that means is that her name will not be recorded on the admittance sheet or patient board and if anyone rings up asking if she is there or what room she has they will be told that no patient or that name is there. Only visitors pre-approved will be allowed to visit her. It's probably actually the safest place for her right now.

My hospital uses security patient codes generally for people who are victims of domestic violence, but the nurses and admin staff and doctors take the code very seriously and will definitely be a formidable roadblock for anyone wishing her harm.
