PMV application questions (Berlin)

Hi everyone, this is a great forum very informative been refering to it regularly over the past few weeks. My fiance and I are just about finished putting or PMV application together and just need some brief clarification on some things, we will be lodging the application in Berlin she is German and myself Australian both will be here in Germany when lodge but I am returning home in November to resume work.

Has anybody recently applied for a similar visa in Berlin and managed to make an appointment to go through the application on lodgement? Have heard from friends there used to be a quick service at the embassy for this type of visa.

For our written statements detailing our relationship are we required to form some sort of essay each with all required info and future plans detailed with in? Because on the embassy site for Berlin there is also a form titled Partner Migraton - Relationship Pro Forma or are both required?

Thanks in advance for looking and any advice is much appreciated.

hi jeremy, we applied for a de-facto partner visa in berlin in july. at that time they said they weren't taking any appointments in july or august. but maybe that's changed now, so give them a call and ask.

as for the written statements and relationship pro-forma, we did them both to be on the safe side. well, 1 written statement each and 1 relationship pro-forma, filled out by my partner (applicant).

do you have the checklists from the german embassy website? they are really helpful in putting all the documents together.

good luck with it!

Thanks shensai, hope your application is processed quickly. I will call them when we get the last of the documents in and see what they say about making an appointment. Yeah we found the checklist on the German site has much more info and direct links to required forms compared to the official checklist.
Did you type or hand write your statements?
Thanks Jeremy.

Hi Shensai,

I don't know about you but we have been told that we have a case office but she is off sick for a week. I have called again twice and she is still away sick I think its stress leave and they wont give a date for her return or when they will distribute her case load.

I hope you have a different co! Its unfair that other office's north America particularly are far more efficient!

Good luck
Ben;
Edit: Ben, bandy your own name around all you like but do use some discretion re use of names of other people.

Hey there -
Just wondering have you been given a time-frame yet?

I ve also applied for the PMV in the London office around the end of July and have been emailed twice telling me 5-6 months! (I m Irish and my fiance s aussie)
I was told in June 3-4 months when I sent an e mail to the online enquiry to the London office but my CO says 'currrent processing time is 5-6 months
I really hope its not .......
I m interested in what you may have been told?
