Transformation from a 457 Sponsorship to a

Hello!

I currently hold a Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457) and intend on applying for a de-facto partner visa.

When I apply for my defacto visa I would have been living with my boyfriend for a year.

Would applying for the de-facto visa jeopardize my current visa? I understand that while it is being reviewed I may get granting a bridging visa but what would happen if it were denied? Would my 457 visa still be valid or would it become void, therefore leaving me without a visa?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

F.T.

You'll have a 457 visa for as long as the conditions apply for it to be valid, ie. having a sponsor.
And yes, you can apply for the defacto visa and whilst you have a 457 you'll have that until the defacto is granted.
